The Central Scotland Documentary Festival celebrates creative documentary and non-fiction filmmaking. Curated and presented by Macrobert, it’s a fitting tribute to the city of Stirling, which is the birthplace of John Grierson, the ‘father of documentary’.
Over five days, the 2024 edition of the Festival will showcase 29 film screenings, comprising of three European, nine UK, seven Scottish Premieres and some of the best documentaries from throughout the year (and a few special events thrown in for good measure). We will also host an exhibition, Capture Narratives, celebrating the films 'in competition' at this year's festival and honour John Grierson with the Stirling 900 Award for Achievement in Documentary.
Nineteen films feature in the competition, vying for two awards: the Jury Award, chosen by a panel of industry and academic judges, and the Audience Award, determined by votes from CSDF 2024 attendees.
Central Scotland Documentary Festival 2024 will take place from Thu 31 Oct – Mon 4 Nov. Click on the link below to view the full programme.
