The macrobert’s young consultancy scheme works by young people regularly feeding back and advising on how to improve the programme and facilities for children and young people at macrobert.
The Young Consultants meet on the first Sunday of every month to discuss the building, artistic programme and to carry out their ongoing duties as consultants.
Our Young Consultants have in the past been asked to be involved in various National initiatives. These have included training days for nursery and school teachers, presentations to Head Teachers from all over Scotland, discussing the Consultancy project with other Arts organisations, presenting at the National Family Friendly Conference and also being involved in the National debate on Education at Parliament.
The Young Consultants continue to be invaluable and are still growing in numbers. Currently we have 30 members in this group ranging from 7 to 18 years. The Young Consultants, or YC's as they call themselves, not only worked with us on the design of macrobert but one of their ideas was to have a website and magazine for children.
In return for the valuable input of the Young Consultants, they get two free tickets to most films, shows and events within macrobert. When you attend these, you should fill in a feedback form which you get from Tickets and Information.
