Family Fundays are a new regular feature in the macrobert events calendar. Once a month we will programme even more fun activities to give you and your family the opportunity to explore your creative side. You can choose from a pick 'n' mix of activities and events including interactive storytelling performances, drop in dance, drama, film and arts workshops, creative quizzes and other magical performances. Our cafe bar will also be offering delicious food through out the day, download the new children's menu here.

Live Performances
Cloud Man | For ages 4-8 and their families

Cloudia has always had her head in the clouds. She is a cloud expert and all of her life she has dreamt of seeing a Cloud Man – an extremely rare creature who lives a quiet life high up in the sky.
Follow the clues to the very top of Cloud Mountain where the views are always surprising. If you are lucky, you may see something very special indeed.

Times: 12.15 pm (duration 45 minutes)
Tickets: £5.50 Friends / £7 full price

Experiments In Theatre:
Just One More…  | For ages 3-5
Presented by students from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in association with Libellule Theatre

You and me…makes two.
Him and her…makes four.
Add another.
Then just one more….
Until we are full!
But who is left behind?
Can we take everyone we find?
Join this thirteen-strong cast on a unique theatrical journey for 3-5 year olds to enjoy with their families, teachers and friends.

Times: 2.00pm (duration 40 minutes)
Tickets: £3.00 full price
Special offer ticket £1.50 if booked in conjunction with any activity from the morning


Taster Workshop

Wee Play | For ages 3-5
Come along for a taster of macrobert’s new drama class for pre-school children, which runs on Tuesdays. The class, which encourages children to express themselves through drama and play, is led by Frozen Charlotte Theatre Company (makers of Christmas show Too Many Penguins).
Time: 11.00 – 11.40 am
Tickets: £2.50 friends / £3.00 friends

Art Workshops
The Red Shoe Project Family Workshop | For all ages
The Red Shoes project is part of macrobert’s Let’s Dance Festival and Get Scotland Dancing project, which encourages people to take part in dance.  As part of the Festival we are creating an exhibition, inspired by the theme of Red Shoes, that will include art work from the community as well as artists.  We won’t ask you to dance at this workshop but we will provide materials for you to create your own red shoe inspired creation!

Time:  11.00 am and 3.00 pm (duration 60 minutes)
Tickets: £4.00


Films
Alvin and The Chipmunks - Chipwrecked
Whilst aboard a luxury cruise, the chipmunks are accidently thrown overboard. As they find themselves washed ashore, they look to work on their survival skills and soon realise the island is not as deserted as first thought.

A Monster in Paris
Set in Paris in 1910, A Monster in Paris tells the tale of a shy movie projectionist and an inventor who accidently create Franc, a monster with a terrifying talent for music and the evil Mayor Commissioner Maynott who wants to use the monster for his own ends.

Special offer ticket: £1.50 if booked in conjunction with any activity from the morning


Art Detectives
Become an art detective and explore the art around macrobert with our very own inhouse Art Detective Bob MacArty. Meet him at the Kiosk (outside the Filmhouse) at 1.15pm. Investigations will take approx 15mins.
